With only a few days until Easter, Christians are preparing to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Millions of people will attend church to commemorate when Jesus came back to life following his execution by the Roman government.
Easter is a break in reality as we know it. A man who had been dead for several days spontaneously revived.
According to science, what Jesus experienced is impossible. Once your heart stops and oxygen is no longer circulating through your bloodstream, your organs, tissues and cells cease to function.
Brain cells begin to die from lack of oxygen within five minutes, leading to permanent damage and, over hours, results in the person never being able to regain consciousness.
Jesus died on Friday and rose on Sunday morning. How could Jesus not be subject to the laws of the universe?
Christians argue that, since God created the universe, God is able to bend, or even break, the laws of universe to do whatever God wants, like resurrecting a man who was fully dead.
Fair enough. Let's test this logic in another realm.
Breaking the Laws of the Universe
Most of us are aware of something else in our modern world that seemingly breaks the laws of the universe—UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon).
These are craft that have been filmed by the military and civilians performing maneuvers that, based on our understanding of physics, should be impossible.
Until recently, UAP were not taken seriously by most people, and for good reason.
The premise that UAP are flying around in the sky implies that either 1) certain militaries have had a massive breakthrough in technological capability or 2) this technology has extraterrestrial origins.
Since both the United States and Russia (two of the top militaries on the planet) have been engaging in recent wars without a whiff of the technology that powers these UAP, I think we can infer this technology is not something humans created.
In other words, we’re talking about craft engineered by alien lifeforms somewhere else in our galaxy. The moment you mention aliens, most people simply shut down.
Besides some blurry videos of lights in the sky, what actual evidence exists to prove these are real?
Until recently, I would have agreed with you. As much as I was a fan of The X Files when I was teenager, I have also studied how physics governs the universe. The distance between stars and the energy required to get from one point to another is seemingly impossible to overcome.
Evidence in favor of this physics barrier is the Fermi Paradox, which is the contradiction between high probability estimates for the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations (there are billions of planets in the habitable zone of stars in our galaxy alone) and the lack of evidence for, or contact with, such civilizations.
However, in the last few years, this lack of evidence has begun to shift. The United States government has held hearings about UAP in 2022 and 2023 about how these craft are pervasive. Military pilots testified how they have been encountering UAP for decades.
For my Easter post this year, I want to discuss some of this evidence with you and what all of this says about God, Jesus and our place in the universe.
The Observables
If you’ve ever seen a video of UAP in action, they act in ways that conventional aircraft cannot. The documentary The Age of Disclosure describes five primary signatures of UAP that make them distinct:
Hypersonic Velocity
Instantaneous Acceleration
Low Observability
Transmedium Travel
Antigravity
Let’s take a moment to deal with each of these independently because these labels may not be obvious as to what they mean.
Hypersonic Velocity
Our current fastest manned aircraft, the North American X-15, can attain a maximum speed of 4,500 miles per hour. UAPs have been observed traveling at speeds in excess of 40,000 miles per hour, nearly ten times faster than our fastest jet.
Instantaneous Acceleration
UAP have been observed instantaneously accelerating to thousands of miles per hour, making immediate right-angle turns, and stopping on a dime. At full speed, the X-15 requires roughly half the state of Ohio to turn around.
Fighter jet pilots, who maneuvers at speeds upwards of 630mph, will sustain a G-force (or the "felt" weight of acceleration on the body) of 7-9 times the gravity they experience on the ground.
These pilots will tell you this pressure is extremely physically painful because the force shifts around your internal organs.
Now imagine going zero to thousands of miles an hour in less than a second. The force would liquify your internal organs.
Low Observability
All modern aircraft leave behind physical signatures as they fly. For example, airplanes create contrails as they move through the air due to the exhaust created by their engines and hypersonic jets will produce a sonic boom when they break the sound barrier.
UAP, on the other hand, leave almost no observable signatures. They have no exhaust and cause no sonic boom when breaking the sound barrier.
In fact, compared with modern airplane engines, which tend to be extremely loud, UAP are often completely silent as they move.
Transmedium Travel
UAP have been observed operating in space, air, and water, and are capable of moving seamlessly between each of these environments without compromising performance.
There have been UAP observed moving from space to earth to the ocean without stopping or even slowing down. Currently, there is no human technology available that can seamlessly pivot between these environments.
Antigravity
UAP are not subject to the natural effects of Earth’s gravity. For example, a UAP was detected in 2014 off the coast of Virginia, sitting completely still inside of 120mph winds.
In other words, this UAP was hovering stationary above the ocean inside of a hurricane completely unaffected by weather. Then, after a couple of hours, it shot straight up into space and disappeared.
For humans to enter space, we require massive rockets with tons of fuel and a launch pad to achieve speeds of 17,500mph to overcome the force of Earth’s gravity.
UAP are doing this instantaneously with no obvious means of propulsion.
AATIP (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program)
During the UAP congressional hearing in 2023, military personnel and Department of Defense (DOD) government contractors from a government program known as Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) testified on Capitol Hill that not only has the government been aware of UAP since at least the 1940s, but the government has a secret UAP crash retrieval program.
When a UAP crashes (or is left abandoned), depending on the geographical location of the site, personnel are sent in to recover the craft so that it can be studied. What AATIP scientists realized is that one breakthrough technology on these craft could account for all five of these unique signatures.
These craft have the capacity to harness massive amounts of power to create an energy field around the ship.
This energy field forms what the quantum physicist Dr. Hal Puthoff and astrophysicist Dr. Eric Davis (both who worked for AATIP) call a warp bubble where anything inside the bubble experiences a different property of space-time than outside the bubble.
Recently, the Navy upgraded the sensor systems on their fighter aircraft and the images of UAP reveal the energy field around the craft, which the prior generation of sensor systems would have been unable to visualize.

Put simply, this energy bubble is what allows the craft to perform all these crazy maneuvers.
For example, the reason why the craft can instantaneously accelerate is because the craft can manipulate the bubble’s properties, which allows the craft to ride space-time like a wave in the same way a surfer rides the wave of an ocean.
Due to the inside of the craft having a different property of space-time than the outside world, while we observe the craft accelerating to 40,000mph, inside the craft, they would barely feel anything at all.
Human technology is restricted by the limitations of space-time established by the universe.
UAP are essentially bending those rules, utilizing this energy bubble to warp space-time, which is why these craft do not need engines or wings or leave visible contrails like conventional aircraft flying in our atmosphere.
These craft are disconnected from the atmosphere.
This also explains why these craft can travel from space into the ocean without losing any speed (the energy bubble shunts the water molecules) and why, when someone takes a photo of a UAP, the picture turns out fuzzy and distorted. They're actually taking a photo through a space-time barrier.
Finally, this one breakthrough technology would also explain how an alien species could achieve interstellar travel. This energy bubble would allow the person inside the craft to travel insane distances between stars very quickly without requiring enormous amounts of subjective time.
This is confirmed by the military personnel who investigate the interiors of these craft. When they step inside the craft, they report only having spent a few minutes on the inside, while those outside the craft are waiting for multiple hours.
In other words, time runs at different speeds inside the craft compared to outside the craft.
If what the members of AATIP testified to in front of Congress is true, then the universe as we know it has changed forever.
Theological Implications
If all of this sounds a bit outlandish, just remember how I started this article: Millions of people believe a guy who was brutally executed came back to life after being dead for several days.
Most scientists would say that both Jesus’ resurrection and alien spacecraft are impossible. Yet, Christians readily accept one and dismiss the other. The question is why?
The opening sentence of Genesis, the first book in the Bible states: “In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth…” (Gn. 1:1)
I think we all know what the earth is referring to in this sentence, but what do the authors mean by the heavens?
A little bit of digging and you realize the heavens do not represent some alternate dimension outside of space and time. Literally, the heavens are what we see in the sky.
The ancients believed that when the sun set, they were given a view of the heavens. They didn’t understand all those millions of lights in the sky were distant suns, like our own. Instead, every time they viewed the stars, they believed they were looking upon gods and angels.
From their persepctive, the Earth is not a rock floating in the middle of space as we understand today. Rather, the Earth is literally surrounded by the heavens.
The key to this ancient perspective is they never envisioned any other planets existing besides Earth.
In this way, the authors of the Bible were highly anthropocentric—humans are the pinnacle of God’s creation in the physical world.
We are not simply the apex species of the Earth, we are the apex species of the universe with the critical caveat being their conception of the universe was incredibly small.
This is why God’s plan for salvation feels so logically sound to many Christians. If we are the apex of God’s creation, then sending Jesus to die for the sins of the world and be resurrected makes sense because God wants to reconcile the whole of creation.

However, thanks to modern astronomy, our definition of the whole of creation has expanded exponentially. We now know the universe contains trillions of galaxies. Each galaxy contains hundreds of billions of stars, and each star has orbiting planets.
We also know that our planet has life not because God put it here, but because life evolved over billions of years. This means that other planets could have evolved intelligent life far more advanced than human beings.
All of a sudden, humans are not so special and God’s plan for salvation through Jesus feels inadequate:
If Jesus died for humans, did Jesus also die for the aliens inhabiting other planets in our galaxy?
If these species are older and more advanced than we are, did God create them as well?
Should aliens now be considered the apex species of this universe?
You can easily see how the very existence of aliens denigrates the authority of the Bible, which is why many Christians either deny the existence of aliens altogether or they claim aliens are akin to demons.
Below is a clip from The Age of Disclosure of AATIP members Luis Elizondo and Jay Stratton discussing how Christians within the Pentagon reacted to their research.
Conclusion
In my opinion, the UAP disclosures of the last several years have opened an entirely new dialogue about our place in the universe. Up until now, we have assumed we are the only intelligent life in the universe.
What these UAP disclosures convey is that Earth is one of many planets in our galaxy harboring intelligent life.
Moreover, if these other species are capable of interstellar travel, we are not nearly as high on the evolutionary ladder as we would like to believe. We are like cavemen compared to their technological capability.
In my opinion, the existence of extraterrestrial life requires a complete overhaul of our theology.
The anthropocentric lens of the Bible is highly inadequate.
Instead, we need to embrace a new modality for understanding God’s creation, one that places humans among many intelligent species that inhabit the universe.
Ultimately, we have to make a decision about which feels more likely: A man who was tortured and executed came back to life three days after his death or a universe with trillions of planets having numerous intelligent species, some of which possess the technology to travel to us.
I can tell you based on the scant evidence for each which I find more compelling.
Where do you fall?
